Korinne Haeffel, LEED AP
Korinne Haeffel has worked in the built environment field since1996. After serving five years on the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance board of directors, Korinne recently transitioned into the executive director role. She also represented WGBA on the US Green Building Council’s Heartland Regional Committee (HRC). As a representative on the USGBC HRC, she contributed to the LEEDv3 2009 rating systems by leading a task force that defined the Regional Priority Credits for Wisconsin.
In the spring of 2010, she established Blue Marble LLC, a sustainable consulting firm focused on providing education and guidance for design teams and building owners that wish to pursue sustainable practices. Blue Marble is a Regional Manager for the Eco Metrics coalition, a national group of consultants that share the guiding principle of restorative design, construction, and operating standards as a fundamental working theory for their practice, and along with Korinne, they embrace the intellectual challenge of leading the building movement.
Korinne is a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee graduate holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a CSI Construction Document Technologist (CDT) with an extensive passion for sustainable practices in the built environment. As a Green Building Specialist, Korinne guides project teams and existing building owners through the sustainable building processes. With a background in healthcare design, she understands the benefits that a healthy environment can provide to occupants as well as the natural world. Korinne’s formal educator roles include a faculty position at the Milwaukee Area Tech College, and she is an instructor for the nationally recognized Building Operators Certification Program.Korinne’s activities within the sustainable community also include a Board of Director seat for the Riveredge Nature Center.
